Gabe locked himself in his room....we turned the door knob so that the lock was on the outside but it's been acting a bit finicky and last week it bit the dust. There was nothing we could do to get it unlocked. So I tried to take the door knob off but that still left us with the latch still on and thus still locked. So back on went part of the door knob to see if we could get it to turn the latch...success! Long story short, we got it out and we have a new door knob...and we are all in one piece. But whew....panic. Gabe took it all in stride, though. Even posing for a pic!
One afternoon after a long day of fun ;) I was in the kitchen and he was supposedly in the living room playing. Well, I didn't hear anything after awhile. I came in and found Gabe like this:
We've been hiking a few times as well...
This is Bridal Veil Falls. Not a long hike at all but a gorgeous view.
And we even got a new pool so Gabe could do some swimming before summer ends.
Now we are getting ready for Gabe to start preschool! He's getting very excited. He'll be going once a week til he can get completely potty-trained and then up to two days a week. I hope this will give him incentive to get fully potty-trained....sigh. Two more weeks :)
Crazy kid ;)

Oregon Trip
We just got home from a week long trip to Oregon. We camped at Camp Dakota with Archie's family. We stayed in a yurt, ate a lot of food, got cold, wet, saw beautiful trees and landscape, got no sleep, and was dirty!!!! All in all, I think Gabe had the time of his life. He got to meet and play with many of his cousins for the first time. This was the first time he slept for more than a night outside of his bed. The first night or two were a bit rough but he caught on and got some sleep...well, a little more anyway.
He panned for some gold and found an arrowhead and a fleck of gold and got lots of precious stones. He loved it! We disc golfed. Went to a beautiful waterfall. We hung out in Portland at the famous biggest and still independent bookstore, Powell's. Hung out with friends and more family.
But the DRIVE! HORRIBLE! Gabe was a trooper. We did the trip to Oregon in two days, but the trip back was slow and furious.
In short: Fun but glad to be home! Also, be careful of the squirrels! They plot out there ;) One night they were having a war or something. Chattering incessantly and I think they even threw acorns at our yurt...
Oh, and yurts are the only way to camp if you don't have a motor home!

Ran out of Space
After two blogs in three years and lots of pics of Gabe and other items, I haver exceeded my picture storage. How can I blog without pics? So I'm at a crossroads. Stay with Blogger and figure out a way to link to pics from a different online storage or pay money for more storage. Or I can go with a different blogging website...like Wordpress. I'm going to tweak for a bit and figure some stuff out. Hopefully I'll be back in action soon with more awesome Gabe goodness here, but definitely somewhere and very soon!
